TRIP DETAILS

This is to provide you information for the trip you have booked on board MV DiveRACE Class E departing to Similan Islands / Koh Bon / Koh Tachai / Richelieu Rock for 5D4N 14 dives liveaboard trip. 

Dinner would be served onboard on the date of the trip departure. There will be a Boat Briefing, Cabin Allocation and the General Plan for the trip.

Do inform us if you have any special dietary needs so that we are able to prepare in advance.

Please bring along your Diving Certification for verification on board.

PICK UP POINT / TIMING

Please inform us of your Hotel or Pick up Location so that we are able to ensure that the pick-up is smooth. Please wait at your hotel lobby or designated location for your pick up. Timing are estimates and dependent on traffic situations please.

!! Guests who are unable to make the pick-up timing would be required to arrange for alternative or private transfers. Please inform us if you require such arrangements and we will get back to you with the pricing.

!! Please note that our free schedule transfers might be a long journey as we make multiple pick-ups at different locations. Expected arrival time to the vessel at Thap Lamu Pier is usually 2030hrs.

!! Guests who prefer to have a private transfer (chargeable) from their location to the boat, please contact us to arrange for you.


DEPARTURE INFORMATION

We will be departing from Thap Lamu Pier (Khao Lak area).

For guests that make their own way to the boat, please take note that the boat will only be ready to receive you from 1800hrs onwards.

Do note that there will be a 2300THB Marine Park Fees that would be collected in cash on board. The exact amount will be confirmed when guests are on board.


RULES / LAW From SIMILAN ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK

Guests must have scuba diving insurance before entering the national park. You can purchase it HERE.

Guests must be scuba certified (minimum open water certification) prior to the liveaboard dive trip.

Guests are NOT allowed to bring single use plastic (eg. Mineral water bottle, plastic bags) to the Similan Islands National Park. We advise guests to bring their own personal reusable water bottle for the trip.

Guests are NOT allowed to use sunscreen with harmful chemicals during the trip. Please see more information HERE

Anyone who flouts the rules will be liable for fines & punishment by the National Park.

1. CASH (all bills on board are collected only in THAI BAHT)

2. Personal Dive Equipment – BCD, Regulator, Mask, Fins, Wetsuit, Torch, Dive Computer, SMB, etc

3. Personal Medication

4. Dive Certification + Dive Insurance documentation

5. Passport

6. Toiletries – Soap, Shampoo, Toothbrush, Toothpaste


WHAT DOES DIVERACE PROVIDE?

1. Bath Towels (1 for the trip) + Pool Towel (1 for the trip) – feel free to bring your personal towel if you would like extra.

2. Blankets / Linen

3. Snacks (eg. Bread / tea / coffee / milk / biscuits / spreads)

4. Seasick pills 

5. Hot towel, drink and fruits after every dive

The 230V sockets on board are international type that allows for different plugs.


ARRIVAL POINT

We will be returning to Thap Lamu Pier (Khao Lak area) at approximately 1330hrs on the date of the trip arrival. 

Do note that if guests are flying on the day of the trip arrival, they would need to skip the final day dives of the trip. We advise that for flight timings to be after 1800hrs as the estimated arrival at the airport is at 1600hrs.

There would be a transfer on the date of the trip arrival back to your hotel (in Phuket or Khao Lak) or to the airport.


DIVE SITES ITINERARY

Water temperature is expected to be at 26 to 29 degrees Celsius.

Please note that dive sites and dive schedules are subjected to changes according to weather and sea conditions. We will plan the dives so that we get the best possible dive conditions.

DAY 1: Trip Departure

DAY 2: Hideaway Bay, West of Eden, Elephant Head Rock, Turtle Rock or Snapper Alley (4 dives)

DAY 3: Koh Bon, Koh Tachai (4 dives)

DAY 4: Ao Pakkard, Richelieu Rock (4 dives)

DAY 5: Boonsung Wreck (2 dives), Trip Arrival

Most of the dive sites have explorable depths that are deeper than 18m. To fully appreciate and explore the sites, we recommend guests to be advanced certified or deep diver certified. Please inform our Cruise director on board if you wish to partake in the Advanced Open Water Course.


DIVING INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that each guest purchases comprehensive accident, medical, baggage and trip cancellation/interruption insurance when space is reserved. Please be advised that if guests choose NOT to purchase the trip insurance, we will not be responsible for any financial disappointment caused by reasons beyond our control!

In the event that it will be necessary for DiveRACE to change, cancel or interrupt the trip due to any accident or bad weather, there will not be any refund. 

Guests are recommended to get DiveAssure insurance with the Liveaboard Rider to ensure they are well covered in the event of any unforeseen circumstances. For more information, please refer here: https://diverace.com/insurance-matters/

If your personal insurance covers extreme sports such as diving, please ensure that it covers medical as well as evacuation too.
