Boonsung Wreck – A Fish-Packed Artificial Reef Teeming With Life

Once a tin dredger working along Thailand’s west coast, the Boonsung Wreck now rests off Khao Lak as one of the most vibrant artificial reefs in the Andaman Sea. Over time, the broken structure has transformed into a marine magnet, drawing astonishing densities of fish and creating a photographer’s paradise.

Divers can expect to be surrounded by swirling schools of snapper, barracuda, trevally, and fusiliers, along with frequent sightings of cuttlefish, nudibranchs, honeycomb moray eels, and even the occasional leopard shark. The wreck’s collapsed sections make it accessible for divers of all levels while still offering plenty of nooks and crannies for macro lovers.

Strong fish action, easy depth, and thriving biodiversity make the Boonsung Wreck a must-dive destination on any Thailand liveaboard itinerary. Dive with DiveRACE and experience one of the most lively underwater playgrounds in the region.
