Role Overview
You’ll deliver safe, engaging dive experiences and smooth guest operations from check-in to checkout—balancing professional guiding with warm hospitality and tight deck discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide Diving Activities
- Lead safe, informative dives for certified guests; uphold low-impact, respectful diving.
- Conduct thorough dive briefings (site plan, route, signals, marine life, contingencies).
- Manage underwater group logistics (entries/exits, depth/time discipline, buddy checks, gas monitoring).
- Guest Support & Operations
- Assist during check-ins, gear sizing/setup, tank allocation, and surface-interval care.
- Foster a fun, inclusive, safety-first atmosphere onboard.
- Provide meal service during assigned times (basic plating, clearing, beverage top-ups).
- Deck & Equipment
- Support dive deck setup/reset, rinse systems, and daily housekeeping of dive areas.
- Encourage proper equipment care; help with minor gear issues within competency.
- Conditions & Safety
- Monitor weather, tides, currents, and visibility with Dive Operations; adapt plans as needed.
- Participate in safety drills and support emergency procedures when required.
- Photography Etiquette
- Assist photographers appropriately (entries, positioning, buoyancy reminders) without disturbing marine life or other guests.
- Professional Conduct
- Follow company SOPs, environmental guidelines, and Thai maritime regulations.
- Keep accurate logs (guest lists, dive stats, incidents, equipment usage).
Requirements
- Certification:
- Thai Divemaster (certified), or foreign Instructor with active professional insurance and a valid Thai work permit.
- Experience: ≥1 year as a dive pro; liveaboard experience preferred.
- Local Knowledge: Familiar with Thailand sites (Similan, Surin, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon/Koh Tachai is a plus).
- Skills: Physically fit, strong swimmer, safety-conscious, excellent guest service and teamwork.
- Equipment: Own full dive kit in good working order.
- Languages: Fluent English; additional languages (Thai, Mandarin, German, French, etc.) are a plus.
- Legal: Eligible to work in Thailand legally and able to provide documentation.
- Nice to Have: Current EFR/First Aid & O₂ provider; nitrox knowledge; tender support basics.

Schedule & Working Conditions
- Trip-based rosters per MV DiveRACE Class X sailing calendar (multi-day liveaboard).
- Extended hours around embarkation/disembarkation; physically demanding (ladders, lifting ~15 kg, sun/salt exposure).
